Kim was hired to replace Elizabeth Yakes and Chow was hired to replace David Zee, according to a spokeswoman for the firm. Yakes left her six-year stint as vice president of portfolio management at Wilshire’s Los Angeles office in May for a gig as senior product specialist (multi-asset) for American Funds at Capital Group, also in LA, according to LinkedIn. Zee was with Wilshire for around five years before he left to accept a role at Callan’s Global Manager Research group in Los Angeles in January.

“We are delighted to welcome both Suehyun and Rebekah to Wilshire Funds Management, each of whom boasts an impressive track record of leadership and expertise,” stated Jason Schwarz, President of Wilshire Funds Management and Wilshire Analytics, in a press release. “Their vast amount of industry experience will be invaluable as the business continues to grow and innovate to deliver high quality consulting and customized investment solutions to our expanding client base.”

Kim comes to Wilshire with more than 18 years of industry experience. She previously served as investment director at Cetera Financial Group and head of manager research for Cetera Investment Management. Kim was previously an equity analyst and director of research at the Global Fund Group. Before relocating to Los Angeles, she spent more than a decade in New York, working as a fundamental equity analyst on long-only and long/short strategies, first at Morgan Stanley Asset Management in domestic equity, then with Millgate Capital, a hedge fund focused on international investment.

Chow comes to Wilshire with almost two decades of industry experience. Prior to joining Wilshire Associates, Chow worked at Aon Hewitt as an investment analyst and was a senior member of the Investment Manager Research Group, focusing on fixed-income managers.  Before entering the consulting business, Chow spent a decade on the buy-side as a corporate credit analyst.
